As we head into round 10 of the Serie A season, AC Milan are unbeaten at the top of the table and are five points clear of the chasing pack. Alongside Milan, only Juventus remain unbeaten but have drawn five of their nine games.
Further down the league log, only Crotone are without a win this season and languish deep in the relegation zone.
This weekend holds quite a number of exciting games to look forward to.
Saturday 5th December
Spezia v Lazio
Spezia host Lazio on Saturday afternoon to kick off this weekend’s round of games. The hosts are enjoying a run of three games without defeat and managed to salvage a draw against Cagliari last time out.
Lazio on the other hand have been inconsistent this season with points being dropped despite the quality possessed across all areas of the pitch. The Eagles will look to pick up maximum points on the road to bring some stability within their ranks.
Juventus v Torino
Later in the day, the Derby della Mole takes place at the Allianz Stadium as Juventus and Torino square off. Andrea Pirlo’s side have struggled slightly this season with five draws out of nine games putting them below Milan.
Torino themselves come into this game with just six points from nine games and are languishing in 18th place. A win in a traditional derby will boost their confidence and spark a resurgence.
Inter Milan v Bologna
Antonio Conte’s Inter head into this game on the back of back-to-back games that has seen them net seven times and let in just two.
Bologna also come into this game with back-to-back wins and will fancy their chances against the Nerazzurri. This game closes out games for Saturday.
Sunday 6th December
Hellas Verona v Cagliari
Sunday’s first game is one that has been a low scoring and these two teams will know they can pick up some valuable point. Hellas beat Atalanta last time out away from home while Cagliari played out a draw with Spezia.
Parma v Benevento
Hosts Parma come into this game on the back of a hard earned win away to Genoa while Benevento were impressive and played out an entertaining draw with reigning champions Juventus. Both teams have 10 points on the board and will do everything possible to add to that tally.
Udinese v Atalanta
Udinese come into this game on the back of consecutive wins and will hope to arrest their run of five defeats against Atalanta in as many games. Atalanta also come into this game seeking to win after three games without a win. History is on their side in this fixture and they will hope to pick three points on Sunday.
Roma v Sassuolo
Both teams come into this game on the back of humiliating defeats against Napoli and Inter. Roma and Sassuolo will both hope to pick a win and a lot of goalmouth action will be expected.
Crotone v Napoli
Crotone are winless this season and barring a Napoli capitulation, that winless run will continue for at least another week. The home side will need a strong performance to beat the Partenopei who will look to continue their resurgence.
Sampdoria v AC Milan
Table-toppers Milan go away to Sampdoria who are without a win in their last four league games. The Rossoneri are top of the table with seven wins and two draws and will look to add to that and cement their position at the summit.
Monday 7th December
Fiorentina v Genoa
The last game of the weekend sees Fiorentina and Genoa square off in a fixture that has seen three consecutive goalless draws at the Artemio Franchi Stadium. Fiorentina are on a run of three defeats from four games while Genoa have just one victory this season.
