The Premier League is considered the most popular league in the world. It is also often regarded as the wealthiest national league in world football so it is no surprise that Premier League players earn higher wages compared to their counterparts from other leagues.
Here, we take a look at the highest earning player at every Premier League club.
Arsenal – Mesut Ozil is the highest earning player at Arsenal. The German earns a weekly salary of £350,000. This makes him the third highest paid player in the Premier League. His current contract expires in 2021.
Aston Viila – Jack Grealish is the highest earning player at Aston Villa. The Villa captain recently signed a new long term contract at the club with a £55,000 increase on his previous salary which has moved his weekly wages to £135,000.
Brighton and Hove Albion – The highest earning player at Brighton and Hove Albion is Pascal Gross. The midfielder earns about £50,000 per week at the Seagulls. He was voted the club’s Player of the Year by an overwhelming majority in the 2017/18 season.
Burnley – Ben Mee is the highest paid player at Burnley on about £55,000 per week and rightly so. The Clarets skipper is one of their most loyal servants, a centre-back who has played a massive role at the club under Sean Dyche.
Chelsea – The Blues’ 2020 summer signing Timo Werner is the highest earner at the club. The German earns £173,000 per week. He was signed from RB Leipzig and has immediately hit the ground running with 8 goals in 12 appearances for the club.
Crystal Palace – Wilfried Zaha is the top earner at Crystal on £130,000 a week. The Ivorian still has 3 years on his current contract after a move to Arsenal fell through last summer.
Everton – James Rodríguez is the highest paid player at Everton. The Colombian earns £140,000 a week after signing from Real Madrid on a two-year deal last summer.
Fulham – The highest earning player at Fulham is Aleksandar Mitrovic who earns £63,000 per week. The Serbian has scored 51 goals in 101 appearances for the club.
Leeds United – Patrick Bamford is the highest earning player in the current Leeds squad. He is paid £35,000 every week. The forward joined Leeds from Middlesbrough in 2018 and has since scored 32 goals in 75 appearances including 7 goals in the Premier League this term.
Leicester City – Jamie Vardy is Leicester’s top earner on £140,000 a week. Vardy is the oldest player to win the Premier League Golden Boot after finishing last season with 23 goals.
Liverpool – Mohamed Salah is the highest earning player at Liverpool earning £200,000. The Egyptian is the third fastest player in Liverpool FC history to score 100 goals.
Manchester City – Kevin De Bruyne is the highest paid Manchester City player. The Belgian earns £350,000 per week at City. He is also the second highest paid player in the Premier League.
Manchester United – Not only is David De Gea the highest paid player at Manchester United but the Spain international is also the Premier League’s biggest earner too. De Gea earns a weekly salary of £375,000.
Newcastle United – The highest paid player at Newcastle United is midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who moved to the club during the 2015/16 season. He has made 134 appearances for the magpies scoring 13 goals.
Sheffield United – Phil Jagielka is the highest earner at Sheffield United. The defender earns a weekly salary of £50,000. Jagielka started his career at Sheffield but left to join Everton in 2007. He returned to his boyhood club in 2019 following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
Southampton – The highest earning player at Southampton is Danny Ings who pockets a weekly wage of £75,000. Ings scored 22 goals in 38 appearances for the Saints last season.
Tottenham – Harry Kane is Tottenham’s highest-paid player with a weekly wage of £200,000. He is also the clubs third highest goal scorer with 201 goals in 301 appearances.
West Bromwich Albion – The highest earning player at West Brom is Charlie Austin with a weekly wage of £70,000. Austin signed for the club on 8 August 2019 on a two-year contract for a £4 million fee.
West Ham United – Andriy Yarmolenko is the highest earning player at West Ham with a weekly wage of £115,000. He joined the club in 2018 and has since made 37 appearances for the Hammers.
Wolverhampton Wanderers – Raul Jimenez is the highest earning Wolverhampton player with a weekly wage of £130,000. The Mexican has led the line to great effect for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side since joining from Benfica in 2018.
